Niya is a physiotherapist who enjoys helping people return to the activities and things they value. She takes a whole-person approach to treatment, with experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, persistent pain, and pelvic health.

Her pelvic health training has deepened her understanding of the relationship between the pelvis, hips, and low back, and she particularly enjoys working with people whose symptoms are complex or have been around for a while. While pelvic health is an area she finds especially rewarding, she works with a broad range of injuries and conditions.

Niya has been practising physiotherapy since 2020, after completing her Master’s of Physiotherapy in Scotland. She enjoys working collaboratively with patients to understand their symptoms, build confidence in their bodies, and work towards meaningful goals. One of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing someone return to an activity they thought they might have to give up.

Outside the clinic, she spends time outdoors with her family, exploring the mountains and getting out for bike rides with their toddler.

Peter graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2012. After working as a kinesiologist for two years, he returned to the University of Alberta to complete his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Peter has been practicing as a physiotherapist since 2015.

For Peter, one of the best parts of being a physiotherapist is getting to know his patients and understanding what matters most to them. Whether that means getting back to the golf course, playing with the kids, returning to sport, or simply moving more comfortably day to day, he enjoys working with people to develop a treatment plan that fits their goals and their lives.

Peter has a particular interest in active rehabilitation, sports injuries and helping people stay active. As a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Medical Level 2 Certified practitioner, he has a special interest in working with golfers to improve their movement, manage injuries and ultimately help them play their best. His own love of golf, hockey, Hyrox and triathlon has shaped his belief that exercise and movement are an important part of getting better and staying healthy.

Peter has continued to expand his clinical knowledge through Orthopaedic Division Manual Therapy Levels, Kinetacore Functional Dry Needling Levels, GLA:D certification for hip and knee osteoarthritis, and TPI Medical Level 2. He also has a growing interest in temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and helping patients with jaw-related pain and movement problems.

Outside of the clinic, Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and their five-year-old daughter. They are excited to welcome another little one to the family in November. When he isn’t at the clinic or chasing after his daughter, you will most likely find Peter on a golf course, playing hockey, training for his next Hyrox or triathlon—or cheering on the Edmonton Oilers. He is always happy to talk hockey, although he can’t promise to be completely unbiased!
